Europe offers so much for a riding holiday; a warm climate, unspoilt land, a selection of landscapes and a variety of breeds to ride. Riding in Europe was perhaps just a dream until recently, but now low cost airlines make accessible almost every location.

Travel to France, which has a countryside in the North similar to England, but with many more endless miles of unspoilt land which to enjoy on horseback. As you travel further South the countryside changes and the sun continues to shine until you reach the balmy climate of the Mediterranean south. A country with so many different landscapes, each with its own charm.

Maybe you would prefer to travel south to Spain and experience the joys of riding in this beautiful and warm country. The horse has always played an important part in the history of Spain and this is reflected in their love of horses and the many different riding holidays you can experience here, whether trails in the mountains or galloping along the beach. Great for a family as there is something for everyone.

When you think of Italy you may just think of Rome or perhaps Venice but although this country is steeped in history and culture (and pasta, of course!), it has so much to offer for the rider. It has large areas and parks protected by law so the environment in which you ride is totally unspoilt. The diverse landscape in each region will continually entrance you as you ride and, at the end of a long day in the saddle, you can experience the famous Italian hospitality.

Then there are the islands of the Mediterranean such as Cyprus and Sardinia where you can experience riding in warm climates, through citrus groves, orchards of olives and over mountains grazed by goats.
