This area of France is very rural and offers the most wonderful riding for those wishing to 'get away from it all' for a long weekend. There are miles of unspoilt beach for fast riding. The area is real farming country with a network of bridle paths. Your host is a well known endurance rider and we try and tailor make a programme to suit your requirements as much as possible..
The horses will be totally reliable and will give confidence to nervous riders and those who have not ridden for a while. Mothers and daughters and groups of friends would really love a weekend here with the opportunity to ride along the beach and in the sea. In fact there is 25 kilometres of unspoilt beach on which to ride. However, your guide will also take you through some beautiful countryside where you will really enjoy your riding, There is also plenty of time to relax on this trip.
See Programmes.
Accommodation is at small typically French hotel situated on the Cote d'Opale. Just seconds from the beach the rooms are simply furnished but with en-suite facilities. Some rooms have views of the sea.
There are rooms to accommodate two but also a small apartment which has two double rooms and facilities to sleep two extra. This also has kitchen facilities. This would be a great place for a group of friends and families to have some fun. This is not a sophisticated hotel but is perfectly good.
Breakfast is included and is a typical French continental breakfast. Lunch and dinner on Saturday is at a local restaurant. The restaurant serves typical French food and is extremely good with an extensive menu. Picnic lunches will be eaten on the Sunday.

The beach is literally one minute from your hotel and is very unspoilt. Walking along this quiet beach or maybe just sitting in the sun would be a pleasure.
If you wish to take your own car to France, there is a great opportunity to visit the Cite Europe Shopping Centre in Calais to stock up on those wonderful French cheeses and, of course, the duty free wine. This whole area of France is very unspoilt and underrated and it is worthwhile taking a look around if you are able. There are golf courses nearby, tennis and cycling.

This weekend is a truly French experience. You will arrive Saturday morning in time to eat at the restaurant for an early lunch at 12.00. At 13.00 you will be collected from the hotel in time for your guide Xavier to introduce you to your horse. You may help groom and tack up your horse in time for the start of your ride at 14.00. You will ride over the bridle paths in the country following the coast and you will get a wonderful view of Wissant and the bay between the two Caps. Your ride may take you to Strouanne and from there to Le Chatelet you will be riding along the beach. This ride will take about three hours. On your return here you should be in time for a walk along the beach or a drink before your evening meal. You will then be able to have dinner at the restaurant (which is included) or if you have your own car, you may wish to travel further afield where you will find many fine restaurants. After breakfast on the following day you will leave the hotel to ride between the glorious countryside of the Two Caps. This ride will take between four and five hours and will include a picnic lunch. The two day itinerary is flexible but you will be able to catch a return ferry or train in the late afternoon on the Sunday. If you wish, we can arrange for you to stay on Sunday evening. At certain times of the year you may extend your trip to include another full day riding. Please ask the office when you book. |
