Reviews

The great thing about this holiday is that you get a great mix: riding lessons and treks; bustling towns with bars and shops; local people and customs, the mountains and valley and the beach and you can do as much or as little as you want.

Absolutely brilliant. Norma and Peter could not do enough for us all week and the horses were great. Norma corrected several faults and bad habits we had. One of the best experiences I have had. We could not ask for more well trained horses, they were excellent. We were totally spoilt.

A beautiful and interesting place to hack out combined with excellent tuition. Forward going but safe horses and a very warm welcome. It was fun and we learnt a lot too. A good mix of riding and other activities.

A really good riding experience, wonderfully healthy, well looked after horses, thoroughly professional. Pete and Norma very helpful - Norma is a skilled horsewoman.

A relaxed and yet instructive holiday in a truly gorgeous location. Peter & Norma make you feel very welcome and make a great effort in planning local excursions. The horses are well mannered and responsive.

We really loved our time in Turkey. Norma and Peter are lovely people and really went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed every day of our stay with them. We were complete novice horse riders when we arrived, but with Norma's patience we soon felt confident in the saddle. We had lovely treks out in the evening, and found ourselves going to bed looking forward to what we would learn in the lessons which we had every morning. I would recommend this holiday to anyone.

We enjoyed out time in Kaya Valley - a good combination of riding and lessons with the chance to see or do other things, and dining out! Relaxing and enjoyable. Nice to criss cross the valley.

Ride Description

A British owned and run centre, Norma and Peter have owned the ranch since 2002 and are delighted to show their guests how much this region of Turkey has to offier for both the rider and non rider alike.

This is one of the few select equestrian centres on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Being situated in the unspoilt region of the the Kaya Valley creates a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The area is very beautiful and scenic which is the setting for Louise de Berniere's novel "Bird Without Wings". It is set in the ancient Lycian region on the Teke Peninsula.

The location of the ranch is superb, although it is peaceful and very close to the ghost village at Kaya Koy, it is also close to the coast and lively towns, so there is a bit of everything on offer. Norma and Pete are also happy to take you to the beach and Fethiye market.

Here at this charming destination you are offered all year round riding and activity holidays that are tailored to individual needs and requirements. You can ride every day or intersperse riding with trips to places of beauty and historical interest.

Norma has many years experience of running a working farm, livery stable and riding school in the UK. She is an award winning rider and has also bred champion horses. She is able to provide tuition to riders of many abilities from beginners to advanced. They are also happy to record sessions and provide feedback on your progress, this is a wonderful learning technique and can visually help you improve your riding.

Here Norma has many years experience of providing riding for the disabled. There is a specially adapted saddle with a front bar and an adapted mounting block for anyone who needs some extra help. The ranch is also wheelchair friendly.

You will be exceptionally well looked after as Norma and Peter are great hosts. They are at hand to make suggestions of things to do in the local area or you can choose to relax at the ranch. A wonderful and flexible destination for everybody.
