Surrounded by natural beauty, the comfortable and rustic-style country house has all the necessary facilities for a relaxing and unforgettable holiday. The house is a 20 minute drive from two pretty natural beaches and just a 5 minute car journey from the town of Felanitx. Here, there is a traditional Sunday market, considered one of the best in Mallorca. The restaurant serves Mediterranean food and meals are provided on the terrace when the summer sun is shining.
There are four programmes available here - a trail leading visitors through the beautiful landscapes, a trail with monastery visits, a dressage programme working with the Andalusian stallions (which also includes work with young horses) and a programme designed specifically for beginners. On returning to the finca after a satisfying day of riding, guests can relax on the pool terrace or enjoy a refreshing swim before a traditional Mallorcan dinner.

A seven night programme during which guests ride to five wonderful renovated monasteries. These are an important part of the Island's historical heritage and you will follow many beautiful paths to reach them. There are lovely landscapes and views to experience during the rides and the natural environments of beaches and fields offer the perfect setting for this Mallorcan adventure. This is not just one for the historians! Most of the monasteries were built in commanding positions on top of a hill and the views from there are spectacular. To ascend to the monasteries you will ride through fabulous countryside, through open plains and rolling hills. The monasteries, themselves, are a wonderful testament to the history and culture of this island and to be able to ride to them on horseback makes this an enriching experience. An experienced guide will lead the trail and will have local knowledge of the area, the culture and the history of Majorca. A support vehicle is always around so on day treks it will there at lunchtimes. Day 1: You will be collected at the airport and taken to the farm where you can settle into your room, visit the stables, meet your guide and enjoy a welcome cocktail (and sit in the sun of course!). Day 2: After breakfast you will be introduced to your horse so the guide can assess your riding level and make sure that both rider and horse are happy. In the afternoon you will have a trail ride to get to know your horse and be introduced to the riding country. Day 3: Today you ride to the Monastery of Bon Any. This monastery is on top of Puig de Bonany. A stone cross was erected here in 1749 for Junípero Serra before he left on a mission to California. The sanctuary was built in the17th century as an act of thanksgiving for a good harvest – bon any or “good year”. The modern church dates from 1925 and is entered via an imposing gate decorated with ceramic portraits of St Paul and St Anthony. The forecourt has panoramic views of the island. Day 4: This morning you will visit the Monastery of Betle and Son Serra Beaches (Arta). This monastery was rebuilt in 1804 when it was rebuilt by a group of hermits after being destroyed by pirates it has a great vantage point as it is 400 metres above sea level. The church is tiny and crudely frescoed, but it’s worth the ride! Day 5: The ride today takes you between the mountains of Randa and Sant Salvador, within the municipality of Porreres where you can find the mountain of Monti-sion with a summit 250 metres high on which stands the sanctuary of the same name. The first chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Montision was built in the XIV century. Later, as from the XV century the present church was built. In the XVIII and XIX centuries reforms were carried out and on January 14, 1954, nearly the whole village worked to open the present road in one day. Three kilometres of road then enabled access by vehicles up to the sanctuary. Your visit to the monastery here also entails enjoying some sensational panoramic views of Porreres and its surroundings. Day 6: Monastery of Randa (Lluchmayor) With a history stretching back over 700 years, this monastery is connected to much of Mallorca’s history. In fair weather the vantage points allow the visitor to see as many as 30 villages while to the north east you can spot the Bay of Alcudia and to the south west the Bay of Palma. Day 7: Todays visit is to the monastery of Sant Salvador also known as Our Lady of Sant Salvador which is situated on the top of the mountain of the same name, at 509 metres of altitude, in the municipality of Felanitx. Its origin dates back to 1348, when the original church dedicated to the "Passió de la Imatge" was built. At the beginning of the 18th century the present church was built and a statue of the Lady of Sant Salvador was placed above the altar. This statue had already been venerated since the end of the 15th century. The remarkable carved stone altarpiece of the "Passió de la Imatge", from the 15th century, was moved to one of the side chapels of the church. The small chapel half way up the road to the sanctuary, was constructed in 1910 to remember the legend of the of the shepherd who found the statue of Our Lady. This is truly a beautiful place to visit. Day 8: One last breakfast in the sunshine and then a sad farewell and departure to the airport. Please note: Each night you will return to the farm. |
