Ride Description

Situated 60km from Istanbul, just a ten minute drive from the Marmara Sea, lies this brilliant riding resort. This is a family owned Boutique hotel, spa and riding centre which aims to combine fun and relaxation with sport and healthy living, whilst giving high priority to personal service and professionalism in all aspects. Whilst being a successful riding facility, this destination maintains the essential character of a country house, offering beautifully decorated rooms and a luxurious indoor pool with spa facilities which overlook the extensive gardens. The rooms have lovely views of the area and each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom so that guests can relax in absolute comfort, enjoying their surroundings.

The riding complex has a large indoor (25m x 45m) arena, an outdoor arena (60m x 60m) and a pony arena (20m x 30m) and offers tuition in show jumping, dressage and breaking. There are thirty well-schooled horses of various breeds, some of which are suitable for absolute beginners and others which are perfect for the more advanced. Lessons are given by experienced bilingual instructors who are particularly good with children, offering pony rides and lead rein rides also. Lunge lessons are given to beginners and high level competition practice is an excellent way for showjumpers to improve. The countryside is a lovely setting for short hacks (up to 2 hours, no longer as the horses are conditioned for showjumping and shorter hacks, as opposed to long treks) and this is an excellent option for competent riders who enjoy the scenery and the freedom which comes with riding a horse in the open. Beginners always start on a lead rein or lunge and the rider will progress to riding freely in the indoor school at the instructors discretion. Safety is always paramount.

The hotel has a stunning indoor pool and jacuzzi and guests can enjoy a delicious cocktail from the bar. The gardens are lovely for sunbathing in the summertime or guests can pop into the rustic café bar to sample an aperitif or to enjoy a snack. The restaurant here serves tasty Turkish and international meals, consisting of organic vegetables grown in their own greenhouse, and there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. This is a lovely destination for a relaxing horsey holiday, whether you would like to improve in a particular riding discipline or to wander the countryside before returning for a swim, massage and mouthwatering meal. The peaceful atmosphere and fresh country air will ensure that you feel rested and will leave this Turkish resort both a happy holidaymaker and a content rider.

Food & Accommodation

The hotel offers 2 deluxe and 28 rooms, all of which have an ensuite, central heating, 24 hour hot water, minibar, personal safe, LED satellite TV, phone and internet connection. The deluxe room is one large room, with a bigger bed (2m x 2m) and jacuzzi bath. There is also a table and sun-chairs provided on the balcony.

The rooms have panoramic views of the Marmara Sea and the surrounding countryside or they overlook the extensive gardens. There is a peaceful atmosphere in the hotel and the rooms are beautifully decorated.

Ensuite bathrooms have hairdryers and some have massage wall showers or jacuzzis (but NOT all). 16 of the rooms have large pull-out sofa beds to sleep 2 children comfortably. Bedrooms have double-glazed windows and are fully heat and sound proofed.

Overlooking the garden, the hotel’s main restaurant has a sophistication and elegance of its own. Its menu offers a wide variety of dishes from both Turkish and International cuisine. Food from the a la carte menu is prepared using organic vegetables freshly picked from the hotel greenhouse, which can be visited at any time. You only have to try one of Chef’s salads to taste the difference. The chocolate soufflé is a must!

The rustic café bar has a wonderfully warm atmosphere with a straw roof, wagon wheels and a log fire, something a bit different to the main dining area. Here guests can sample delicious aperitifs and snacks from the hotel menu or can simply just chill out.

Programme

Seven Night Stay

This package provides seven nights full board accommodation in the peaceful and well-equipped hotel, two hours riding per day and full use of the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. You also receive a welcome cocktail and are entitled to one soft drink per meal included in the cost.

Showjumping is the main focus here with specially trained horses and a first class instructor. Guests can choose whether to spend their riding hours having basic tuition or the enjoying the showjumping. Short trails are available for the experienced riders only as the horses are in training and very fit. The riding is designed so that you spend more time in the saddle than polishing it, however you are welcome to help tack up and groom if you like (so long as you are comfortable and know what you are doing). Your hosts are happy to help people who are not entirely familiar with horses and this can be a good way to bond with a horse before riding them.

Children are equally welcome here and the instructors are particularly adept at catering to their needs. The instructors speak good English and offer lessons and lead rein rides for the children, either on ponies or small horses according to age and height. Children get two of these rides a day.

A week here is a relaxing holiday but one which can be as horsey as you like. Guests can make a marked improvement in their chosen discipline and will go home with some wonderful memories, whether it be of having accomplished some new, having improved their riding skills or having enjoyed some fabulous hacks out. All this is complemented with the excellent range of facilities and other activities available, plus the chance to try some authentic Turkish cuisine and the opportunity to chill out in the jacuzzi or gardens with friends.
