Description
Welcome to this unique equestrian experience in Uganda, the "Pearl of Africa", which offers spectacular trails for riding, stunning views and an incredible variety of wildlife along the way. During this week-long adventure you will be immersed into Ugandan culture by exploring local villages, enjoying long canters through tea and sugar plantations and admiring views of Lake Victoria and the River Nile. You will ride through rainforests with birds and monkeys overhead, swim the Nile with your horse and ride from lodge to lodge.
Each day of the ride is different and your hosts, Nat and TJ, pride themselves on attention to detail and on their herd of fit, responsive horses - there is a horse to suit everyone. Riders do need to be fit and confident for long rising trots and canters but the group can be split if some prefer a more leisurely pace and others would like some faster canters and gallops. The riding terrain varies from day to day and there are hardly any fences, meaning you can ride for miles and miles. A day of white water rafting and a visit to the local school are also included in this special programme. Along the way you are also likely to meet some rarer, smaller species of wildlife (compared to the large wild animals that much of Africa is known for) and we highly recommend extending your trip with a visit to the Mountain Gorillas, something we can arrange for you.
